50 Years of Ginsberg’s ‘Howl’

For several decades, college students (people of all ages, really) have been enchanted by the work of Allen Ginsberg. This NPR story, After 50 Years, Ginsberg’s ‘Howl’ Still Resonates, discusses a bit of the history behind Ginsberg’s ground breaking peom Howl.

The Moraine Valley library holds several collections of Ginsberg’s works. We also hold several items about Ginsberg’s life and work.

Biographies in Mas Ultra Database

The library’s Mas Ultra database has a link for biographies. So, if you search for a person’s name, then click on the “biography” link at the top of the search results, you can find short bios of a range of people.

For instance, here is a search for Biographies of Marcus Garvey (need MVCC ID for off campus access).

These results are often short and very general from basic reference sources such as Britannica or the Dictionary of American Biography.
